Stacey WatsonBefore founding Markery Law, Ms. Watson served as in-house trademark counsel to two of the largest companies in the world, Walmart Stores, Inc. and Verisign, Inc. In those roles, she managed and coordinated trademark searching, prosecution and enforcement for the U.S. and International trademark portfolio, and supervised outside counsel in U.S. and International trademark and domain name disputes, acquisitions and divestitures.  That in-house experience provided her with the ability to provide a unique perspective on business solutions as well as legal solutions to various matters. Ms. Watson has also worked for AmLaw 100 law firms where she managed the firm’s trademark team and counseled clients on international trademark prosecution and enforcement, domain name matters, licensing agreements and packaging review.  Earlier in her career, Ms. Watson served as publications editor for the International Trademark Association (“INTA”) and was a Trademark Examining Attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

Currently, Ms. Watson provides trademark, copyright and branding education, advice and counseling.  She focuses her practice on international trademark prosecution and management including preliminary and full trademark clearance searches, negotiating trademark and copyright assignments and licenses, drafting trademark and copyright (including open source) policies and domain name counseling, including drafting and filing UDRP complaints.

Ms. Watson is an adjunct professor at George Mason University and teaches a Trademark Prosecution and Enforcement Class.
